There are Cybermen on the Lawn!

You may have seen some strangely dressed people, more unusual than usual, wandering around the museum in the past couple of weeks. These cybermen (well, not quite) were not really threatening; they were technicians and surveyors from Terra Measurement. These geospatial surveys were conducted using a 3D Laser Survey to produce a GPS-oriented map of the museum and grounds. It was an interesting visit and a strange moment to see the juxtaposition of ultramodern technology from our own time against the cutting-edge technology of flint hand axes and Saxon swords from the past.
