Saffron Walden 1647 – Reimagined

The Saffron Walden Heritage Development Group with the help of Saffron Walden Museum, St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden BID and Colonel John Pickering’s Regiment of the Sealed Knot Society, are hosting a costumed interpretative drama in the Parish Church of St Mary’s, Saffron Walden. The drama will start at 12.30pm, followed by a Q&A session.
Visitors to the town will have a chance to see a colour party with drums in the Market Square at 11.30am advertising the events!
Col Pickerings Regiment will then perform a display of arms at Saffron Walden Museum between 2.30-4.30pm. Pikes, muskets, drums and flags will be demonstrated on the Castle green.
Saffron Walden Heritage Development Group is engaged in the commissioning of a sculpture celebrating Saffron Walden’s unique role in the development of representative democracy in 1647. More events are planned!
