Your Stories (Community Showcase)

“Your Stories” is a co-curated community display, created by local community groups with the support of museum staff.

“Your Stories” enables us to offer societies, charities, sports clubs or other groups an opportunity to share their experiences of north-west Essex in the museum.

If you would like to get involved with the “Your Stories” project, please contact the museum. You will be given advice and on-going support to create your own display within the museum.

The museum would like to thank the Gibson Walden Fund and Saffron Walden Museum Society for funding the display case for this project when it was originally established as a new initiative in 2016.

Standard Opening Times

Monday – Closed

Tuesday – Open 10am-5pm

Wednesday – Open for schools and pre-booked groups only during term time.

In Essex School Holidays we are open to the public 10am-5pm on Wednesdays

Thursday, Friday & Saturday:  Open 10am – 5pm

Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays: Open 2pm-5pm

(During the winter months we close earlier at 4.30pm November – February)
